The
Game of Life
We
meet with the famous doctor and news reporter Dr. Mahdi Ismael.
Dr.
Mahdi,in your opinion, what is the most powerful enemy of
man in the game of life? Some say they are death, money or
disease. Others say they are failure in marital relationships,
disloyalty of relatives and friends and death. A third group
believe that they are disease, poverty and death. A fourth
group say they are ignorance, death and agony of the grave
and fire of hell. Many agree that the most powerful enemy
is death. My question to you is: "What is the most powerful
foe facing man in the game of life?"
In fact, I agree with you that the most powerful enemies are
ignorance, death and the agony of the grave/fire of hell.
The final enemy and the most powerful of all is the abominable
Satan, which is the most cruel and brutal enemy.
Would
you please arrange them according to power by putting the
most powerful first, then the less powerful and so on. In
my opinion, this is the right sequence for them since the
most powerful enemy of mankind is ignorance.
Is
ignorance stronger than death and the agony of grave/fire
of hell? Is it possible?
If you look at all the enemies mentioned by all the people
interviewed, you will find that ignorance is the common ground
of all those enemies. For example, many of the diseases that
attack man are caused by ignorance. Many patients do not get
healed since they are unaware of the fact that they are sick
and how to get healed. All the incurable diseases are a clear
evidence of the ignorance of man in overcoming those diseases.
How many people who, by their knowledge, managed to identify
the disease and find a cure and how many people, through their
ignorance, bowed down to curable and easy diseases.
Dr.
Mahdi, I think that ignorance has nothing to do with death,
agony of grave or fire. It has nothing to do with dealing
with the Abominable Devil. All are on equal footing before
death, agony of grave and fire of hell and also struggle against
the Abominable Devil.
All are equal in being in the game of life vulnerable to the
attack of those enemies. Yet people differ among themselves
regarding victory or defeat. They differ in facing death and
after death agony. People are not the same in victory over
the hissing of the Sneaking Whisperer.
Are
you telling me that there is anyone who managed to defeat
death and agony of the grave, fire and Abominable Devil? Does
this person exist here on the face of earth? Can we meet him
and make an interview with him?
Of course, there are many of them. We can easily meet them
in our work, neighborhood, or among friends.
How
did these people manage to overcome death, agony of the grave
and the hissing of the Sneaking Whisperer?
They overcome the Evil one by brushing aside ignorance and
by learning wisdom. They have gained discretion in the knowledge
of the God of all truth. They have come to know their enemies
and how to deal with them successfully. The ignorance of man
leads to play with or against money, which will eventually
lead to the victory and dominion of money over man as we have
heard. The ignorance of man results in failure in marital
relationships and collapse of home. Ignorance brings about
weakness and inability to face detachment and loneliness.
Ignorance of the Word of God, His name be exalted, makes man
leads a life of poverty and downfall.
Dr.
Mahdi, if ignorance is so dangerous; would you give us a definition
of 'ignorance' and who is the 'ignorant'?
Ignorance is the state of being unaware of something, which
is useful or harmful for the player in the fierce game of
life we are speaking about. All the teams that are participating
in the World Cup or in the other championships should spend
a considerable time watching videotapes of other games played
by the opponent teams. Why? In order to know their technique
and points of power and weakness, they have to know how the
offense players score goals and who are the key players in
addition to the plan and tactics of the team. The same applies
to us in the game of life; we have to know our opponents in
order to overcome.
You
did not give me a definition of the 'ignorant' or 'fool'.
Does the word 'fool' mean 'illiterate'?
The illiterate are those who cannot read or write but the
word 'illiterate' cannot be used to mean 'ignorant.' There
are different definitions of the term 'fool.' It has been
said that the ignorant is the uncultured even if he/she knows
how to read and write. Some say that the ignorant is the one
who does not know the computer terminology. Yet, the best
definition of the term 'fool' came in the Book of Psalms:
The fool says in his heart, "There is no God." This
is the type of foolishness that we can call the source or
center of ignorance.
